Sampling Methods

We used line transect method to investigate species composition and individual quantity of birds in Xinjizhou National Wetland Park.

Study Extent The Xinjizhou National Wetland Park birds survey was conducted monthly from March 2021 to February 2022,and the scope of this survey is: 31.78N to 31.93N Latitude; 118.48E to 118.59E Longtitude.

Method step description:

  1. A total of 10 survey transits were set up in Xinjizhou National Wetland Park according to the beach area, habitat and accessibility. The length of the transits ranged from 1.0 to 3.5km, covering all habitat types in the wetland park. From March 2021 to February 2022, a monthly bird survey was carried out on each of the 10 lines with binoculars (Shuntu 339FT 10*42) and a monoculars (Swarovski ATS 20*60) to record the species of birds observed, and the number of birds was recorded by direct counting method.
