This checklist documented 372 species across the Jimunai Alpine Permafrost National Wetland Park, which is situated in southwestern Jimunai County, within the subalpine and alpine zones of the Sawuer Mountains. Its geographical coordinates range from 47°6′4″ to 47°10′30″ latitude and 85°33′58″ to 85°42′28″ longitude. The park spans 13 kilometers in both east-west and north-south directions, covering an area of 4,965 hectares. Elevation ranges from 2,500 to 3, 200 meters, with a relative height difference of approximately 700 meters.

The project Third Xinjiang Scientific Expedition “Construction of biological resources collection and conservation platform in arid area” mainly focuses on digitizing the physical specimens of animals and plants in the major specimen collections in Xinjiang and the arid regions of Central Asia. The resources will be integrated to establish a digital specimen museum of the organisms in Xinjiang and the arid regions of Central Asia. Through the collection and collation of literature combined with the analysis and testing of physical samples of rare species, a database of plant metabolites in arid regions will be constructed. The information on the biodiversity of biological specimens, in vitro materials and living plant germplasm resources in arid regions will be integrated to establish a modern, international and open data center and sharing platform for the biodiversity in arid regions. the Third Xinjiang Scientific Expedition “Investigation on Resources and Environment of Mount Altaishan Cross border Protected Area” mainly focuses on a comprehensive and systematic field scientific expedition will be carried out on the biodiversity resources, ecosystem types, landscape patterns and dynamics of the cross-border protected areas in the Altai Mountains to obtain detailed survey data.

Conduct field surveys, take photos and collect specimens. Press the specimens using specimen clips and absorbent paper. After the plants are dry, fix the specimens with white glue and strips of paper. Identify the collected specimens according to "Flora of China" and "Flora of Xinjiang". Supplement the number of plant species by consulting the specimens and documents in the Chinese Virtual Herbarium (CVH, https://www.cvh.ac.cn/), the National Specimen Information Infrastructure (NSII, http://www.nsii.org.cn/) and the herbarium of Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences (XJBI).
| Study Extent |
The survey focus on wild vascular plants in the Jimunai Alpine Periglacial National Wetland Park. |
| Quality Control |
Ensure that the collected plant specimens are complete, including roots, stems, leaves, flowers, and fruits. Use the "Flora of Xinjiang" and the "Flora of China" as the identification basis. For difficult-to-identify species, consult experts in the relevant fields in a timely manner. During the identification process, record in detail the identification characteristics, identification basis, reference materials, and other information of each species, as well as the problems encountered during the identification process and the solutions. These records will not only help trace the identification process but also provide a basis for subsequent research and quality assessment. The final species names should be corrected using SP2000 and TNRS. Then, compare with the research results of the same region or similar habitats to evaluate the reliability of the results of this investigation. |

1.The plant list is based on field surveys conducted annually from May to July between 2020 and 2023, during which 1,583 plant specimens were collected. These specimens are preserved at the Herbarium of the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
2.Additional specimen data and distribution records were obtained from the Chinese Virtual Herbarium (CVH, https://www.cvh.ac.cn/), National Specimen Resource Sharing Platform (NSII, http://www.nsii.org.cn/), Herbarium of the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography (XJBI), Chinese Plant Image Database (PPBC, https://ppbc.iplant.cn/), Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF, https://www.gbif-uat.org/), and newly published taxonomic articles.
3.Botanical names were verified using the Taxonomic Name Resolution Service (TNRS) and standardized according to The Plant List (TPL, http://www.theplantlist.org/). The classification systems used are the PPG I system (PPG I 2016) for ferns, the Christenhusz system for gymnosperms, and the APG IV system (APG IV 2016) for angiosperms.
