We present a comprehensive, decade-long (2014–2024) aerial survey dataset of northern Eurasian waterbirds, covering a broad northern Eurasian study area, with survey effort concentrated in the Russian Arctic and Subarctic. Surveys in a purpose-built light hydroplane covered 1,140,337 km of flight tracks across 67 administrative districts and a net, non-overlapping area of 1,918,845 km² (45.20–76.52°N, 35.49°E–180.00°E / 180.00°W–172.05°W). The dataset contains 97,638 georeferenced occurrence records, comprising 2 distinct survey components: marine (14%) and inland basin (86%) surveys. The 10 most abundant species (4 geese and 6 ducks) account for 76% of all individuals. Following spatial deduplication with survey-type grouping, the dataset encompasses 2,438,521 deduplicated individuals from 42 species in 19 genera, distributed as: marine surveys: 397,373 individuals (16%) from 34 species; basin surveys: 2,041,148 individuals (84%) from 42 species. These records provide a spatially explicit baseline for analyses of broad distribution patterns and conservation planning in surveyed regions of northern Eurasia.

This study synthesizes line monitoring data collected from multiple locations within Gansu Province, including Subei Mongolian Autonomous County, Yumen City, Lanzhou City, Luqu County, and Wudu District of Longnan City, spanning the years 2011 to 2020. Additionally, it incorporates line records from Tianzhu County (2014–2020), as well as Gaotai County, Minqin County, Maiji District of Tianshui City, Kongtong District of Pingliang City, Wen County, and Dunhuang City (2016–2018). Drawing upon these asynchronous surveys conducted across varying temporal and spatial scales, a comprehensive sampling event dataset was developed, comprising 118 transects and encompassing 373 species. The dataset includes 27,077 georeferenced event records, representing 157,345 individual organisms from 373 species distributed across 21 orders, 65 families and 191 genera. The most abundant species was the Sparrow, constituting 12.57% of all individuals, followed by the Bar-headed Goose, which accounted for 10.43%. All records adhere to Darwin Core standards, thereby providing a robust foundation for subsequent analyses of population trends, habitat associations, and inter-basin comparisons within Gansu Province.

We present a sampling-event dataset from a synchronised survey of wintering waterbirds conducted across coastal wetlands in Fujian Province, China, in February 2006. The survey aimed to systematically assess regional distribution patterns and abundance of waterbirds. The geographical extent ranged from 23°43′N to 27°17′N and from 117°19′E to 120°18′E, covering 2,657.56 km². Systematic observations were carried out at 191 fixed survey points across 21 wetlands, including 25 wetland nature reserves. The dataset contains 108,125 recorded individuals of 64 waterbird species in 40 genera. The 10 most abundant species account for 84% of all individuals, comprising 4 shorebirds, 3 ducks, 1 gull, 1 egret and 1 cormorant. Records are organised according to Darwin Core standards as sampling events with linked occurrence records, ensuring comparability and reusability. This dataset provides a spatially explicit baseline for analyses of wintering waterbird distributions, long-term monitoring of population dynamics, and conservation planning for coastal wetlands in Fujian.

In order to fully understand the current situation of wild vascular plant resources in Xinjiang and provide basic information for subsequent work, it is necessary to revise and update the wild vascular plant list in Xinjiang. Based on previous studies, we updated the list of wild vascular plants in Xinjiang through literature collection, specimen study, field investigation and the latest taxonomic research results. In total, the present checklist recorded 4,109 species belonging to 800 genera in 113 families (including infraspecific taxa, the same below), with 52 species of lycopods and ferns in 23 genera and 14 families, 22 species of gymnosperms in 6 genera and 3 families, and 4,035 species of angiosperms in 771 genera and 96 families. The top 4 families of lycopods and ferns with the largest number of species were Aspleniaceae (9 species), Equisetaceae (8 species), Dryopteridaceae (7 species) and Cystopteridaceae (7 species), and the largest genus was Asplenium (9 species). Ephedraceae (11 species) and Ephedra (11 species) were the most abundant families and genera of gymnosperms. Angiosperms are the most important components of wild vascular plants in Xinjiang, accounting for 85.0%, 96.4% and 98.2% of the total number of families, genera and species, respectively. The top 5 families with the largest number of species are Asteraceae (600 species), Fabaceae (465 species), Poaceae (423 species), Brassicaceae (215 species) and Ranunculaceae (181 species). The top 5 genera were Astragalus (212 species), Oxytropis (101 species), Carex (86 species), Artemisia (65 species) and Allium (64 species). In addition, the list covers 53 species and subspecific taxa in 41 genera and 20 families of suspected species in Xinjiang, 59 species of protected plants in 26 genera and 20 families in China; 125 species of protected plants in 73 genera and 46 families in Xinjiang; there are 95 species of threatened plants in 61 genera and 38 families. This study can provide basic data for the revision of Xinjiang Flora and biodiversity conservation.
